Once upon a time, in the majestic Alps, there lived a mysterious village called Castellane, where every stone tells a forgotten story. Once known by the enchanting names of Ducelia and Salinae, this haven of peace has survived the centuries, witnessing the tumults of the past, such as the assaults of the Saracens in 812. Among the architectural curiosities, the 12th-century Saint-Victor church stands majestically with its centuries-old vaults. It offers a space of serenity where the whispers of the past still resonate. The Pentagonal Tower and the Clock Tower, both from the 14th century, recall the defensive role of the village through the ages. The Pont du Roc, built in the 17th century, majestically perched above the Verdon, is a masterpiece of engineering. Nearby, the ruins of Petra Castellana bear witness to the ancient origins of this village.

In the heart of Castellane, the famous Route Napoleon stretches like Ariadne's thread, weaving an unbreakable link between the glorious past and the vibrant present. A commemorative plaque recalls the passage of the great Napoleon Bonaparte on March 3, 1815. Each stone of the Rue Nationale still resonates with the echoes of this fascinating era.
