Description
Starting from the castle square in Malijai, head towards the school and then towards the N85. Cross the N85 and follow it to your right for 250 meters. Turn left onto the path that crosses the old Digne railway line. After passing the stadium and a few olive groves, the trail follows a wide track that initially runs along the bottom of a ravine and then climbs its wooded slope to a small plateau. The marked trail (PR) leaves the track 200 meters further on and climbs quite steeply into the woods. Reaching the ridge, the view opens up over the entire Durance valley. After a flat and relaxing section, you'll finish with a final climb that takes you to the summit of Pourachère. The return can be made via the same route or via L'Escale, from where you can return to Malijai by following the unmarked EDF canal (allow 1 hour 45 minutes).
