Head towards the lower Ubaye Valley towards Digne-les-Bains.
After climbing the Col Saint-Jean and descending towards Seyne-les-Alpes, take the Col du Fanget, which will take you to the Clues de Barles, a remarkable geological site in the Bès gorges.
Continue to Digne-les-Bains, capital of the Alpes de Haute Provence, then Saint-André-les-Alpes and Lake Castillon, gateway to the Verdon.
Cross the charming village of Entraunes before beginning the return journey via the Col de la Cayolle. Be careful, you are in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, so a moderate pace is required!
