Discover the small summit of Castillon and the privileged viewpoint it offers on the surrounding mountains. The departure is by the fortified gate of Riou, you will follow the direction of Vincel.
Description
At the "L'Automnée" signpost, follow the direction En Naups then Le Castillon via Les Baumes. Warning: on this part, up to the hamlet En Naups, landslides are regular, be careful, especially in case of bad weather in the previous days.
After crossing En Naups, continue on a small country road and turn right following the direction of Castillon. This small summit will be reached in a round trip of about 1 km. You will see the small village of Saint-Jurs in the distance and will be able to observe the splendid panorama offered on the Valensole plateau and a large part of the Montdenier massif.
For the descent, follow the direction of Moustiers. You will pass through the hamlets of Ségriès and Embourgues. Be careful as you cross the D952 twice.
You will reach the village by passing through an olive grove to reach the Chemin du Paradou and Avenue Frédéric Mistral, bringing you back to the village center.
