Family walk along the water, from one bank to the other of the Champons and Combes streams.
Description
From Rue du Vergeron, join Grand Rue, then Rue Destra Casteu which runs alongside the Défens ravine. After the last houses, follow the small, yellow-marked path on the left. The path which follows the Ravin des Combes, often in the forest, offers some clear passages. After walking for 1,4 km, an intersection appears. Ignore the path on the left, which leads to the Pic de Rent (1978 m), and continue on the right. Cross a pretty wooden footbridge which gracefully spans the Puy de Rent ravine. Just after, 300 m, admire the Bastide d'Haut Ville, ruins which date back to the Carolingian period (8th and 9th centuries). The path continues through the forest with a few gaps and then opens south into the Ravin des Champons to return to the Ravin du Défens, the start of the hike. Return to the parking lot through the small streets of the village of Allons, which is just waiting to be visited.
