Trail through the Ratery larch forest, passing through the mountain pastures and then the robines (black earth). Arrival at the pass with a splendid panoramic view in all directions (including the Aiguilles de Pelens in the Alpes Maritimes). Themed trail at the top of the pass.
Description
After the oratory, follow the markers. The route passes behind the houses and follows the GR de Pays Tour du Haut-Verdon route, which crosses the Mercantour National Park from west to east.
After crossing the Roubrion ravine, you will be halfway there. Take a break at the Ratéry chalet to eat or stay in the yurt before continuing towards the pass. Then follow the botanical trail towards the Cabane Vieille. You will then arrive at a crossroads where you will have to turn right onto the Ratery forest road. Follow it for a distance of 650m, then leave it and turn right onto the GR. Then reach the Col des Champs. From the pass, enjoy the 360-degree panoramic view of the Haut-Var and Haut-Verdon valleys. The return is via the same route.
