A beautiful route through chestnut groves and, in places, among sandstone blocks. It crosses the abandoned hamlets of Collet Gouiran and La Rate and passes close to the ruins of the Saint Pierre chapel built on a sandstone rock.
Description
Au départ de la Place de la Mairie, emprunter la montée de la Suéio puis, à droite, le chemin d'Argenton. Passer au-dessus de la voie ferrée que vous croiserez à nouveau un peu plus haut. Le sentier s'élève en décrivant quelques lacets avant de déboucher sur une piste. Prendre à droite puis tout de suite à gauche; L'itinéraire traverse la magnifique châtaigneraie du Chastel avant de rejoindre la GTPA (balisage jaune / rouge). Prendre alors à droite, dépasser les ruines du Collet Gouiran puis de La Rate.
Then turn right at the intersection. The path descends to the Ravin de la Beïte, then joins the Argenton trail. Follow it south. At the intersection, turn right, pass near the Saint-Pierre chapel, then turn right onto the Argenton trail. Pass in front of the hamlet of La Rouie, and leave the trail on the left at the intersection. The path descends steeply into an area of robins before reaching Le Fugeret.
Please note: the chestnut groves are private property, any harvesting (chestnuts, mushrooms, etc.) is prohibited.
