Just like the pilgrims of Saint-Jean Baptiste, every year in June, you will reach the Desert Chapel located on the old road between Entrevaux and Castellane.
Description
Pass an old school. At the next crossroads, follow the road to the right as it climbs to an oratory, then turn left.
At a bend to the right, turn right onto a path that climbs steadily up the mountainside. After a few bends, join a track and follow it straight ahead.
At the first houses you come across, the route turns left onto a path, along a low wall. Pass in front of the ruins of La Colle. Come out into some meadows then climb up the left bank of a ditch and cross it at the level of a pond.
Continue towards the forest. The path passes two oratories, crosses numerous ravines before reaching, after the last, a logging road. Continue straight ahead and reach the Saint-Jeannet pass. Continue straight ahead, the path descends into the forest, passes a spring. You arrive at the chapel of Saint-Jean du Désert. The return is via the same route.
