With over 1500 climbing routes on limestone rock, the Verdon Gorges Canyon is an internationally renowned climbing site.

Description

The Grand Canyon du Verdon was opened to climbing in 1968. The Escalès cliff, accessible via the Route des Crêtes, allows for multi-pitch routes of over 200 meters on some of the most beautiful limestone in the world. From the lookouts, rappelling reduces the number of approach steps.

It was in the 80s, thanks to Patrick Edlinger and many other renowned climbers, that the Gorges du Verdon became the world's leading climbing destination.

Today, the Verdon cliffs offer a wide range of climbing routes, from practice cliffs to multi-pitch routes over 250 meters long. All this in a sumptuous setting...
