Located at an altitude of 2,228 m in the heart of the Mercantour National Park, Lake Allos is the largest natural high-altitude lake in Europe. Of glacial origin, it offers a spectacular setting, ideal for hiking, contemplation, and regulated fishing (brown trout, Arctic char). Swimming and all water sports are prohibited in order to preserve this fragile environment. Accessible after a walk of approximately 1 hour from the Laus car park, the site is protected: dogs, mountain bikes, drones, and picking are prohibited. Plan to take your waste with you. For greater peace of mind, visit during the off-season (June or September).
