So what does he have in store for you?
1 Day:
From the old village of Entrepierres, you climb through the forest to the famous Trou de l'Argent cave. You'll have to slip into this natural cavity dug by water in the limestone to admire Sisteron from above, from the cliff of La Baume. In the evening, visit the citadel at sunset and wander through the streets of Sisteron by night.
2 Day:
You'll take the "Route du Temps" to explore the Haute-Provence geological park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Heading towards the Saint-Geniez plateau, where you'll go to the foot of the Dromon rock (which inspired the legend of "Theopolis," a lost city founded by Dardanus) and then to the Pierre Écrite via the Gâche ridge at the end of the day, an exceptional balcony overlooking the entire Durance valley.
3 Day:
You'll enter the heart of the Monges massif, climbing its ridges, grazed in the summer by immense flocks of sheep. You might encounter its wild ancestor, the Mediterranean mouflon, present on the massif. Hike along the ridgeline and then through the forest to Lake Monges, where you'll arrive in the late afternoon. Spend the night in a secluded lodge in the forest, near the lake. After dinner, you'll head out again to admire the stars, far from any light pollution.
4 Day:
For this final day, you'll head towards the Provençal Baronnies to visit one of the most iconic sites in the Provençal Alps: welcome to the heart of the famous Méouge Gorges! You'll travel upriver for nearly 3 kilometers before climbing to admire the gorges from the surrounding cliffs. A breathtaking experience guaranteed. No difficulty!
