To ensure that this mountain bike tour is, above all, a pleasure, we take care of your accommodation reservations, the transport of your luggage from one stage to the next and the shuttle between the departure and arrival points.
Program :
Day 1: Col d’Allos to Colmars Les Alpes 24kms D+500m/D-1500m
Meet in front of the Moustiers Saint Marie Tourist Office (the location and time can be arranged with you). Load your luggage and mountain bikes and travel by private vehicle to the Col d'Allos (approximately 1.5 hours).
We start our mountain bike journey at the Col d'Allos at 2247m, starting with a superb descent on single track to the village of Val d'Allos. A short climb on the road before continuing with a beautiful balcony passage before reaching Colmars les Alpes where you will stop.
Dinner, overnight stay and breakfast.
Day 2: Colmars les Alpes to Colle Saint Michel 41kms D+1800m/D-1650m
Breakfast then departure for a superb "mountain" stage to reach the highest point of the route at 2472m and the high altitude lakes of Lignin. Start of the climb on the road then alternating passages on the balcony and climb to reach the pasture areas and the pass before switching to a long descent on the trail.
In case of snow or other weather problems etc... this stage can be replaced by the variant on a superb path remaining in the valley on the edge of the Verdon. Dinner, Night and Breakfast.
Day 3: La Colle Saint Michel to Saint André les Alpes 51kms D+1540m/D-2100m
Breakfast for a stage with a physical start to reach the plateau before beautiful passages of trail descending to the Verdon. We then embark on a long climb on track to reach the Montagne de Maurel, place of pastoralism whose wild atmosphere and preserved nature you will remember. You will finish with a superb descent on single track in the undergrowth to reach St André. Dinner, Night and Breakfast.
Day 4: Saint André les Alpes to Rougon 42kms D+1233m/D-1190m
Breakfast and then climb on the track to enjoy a superb view of the Castillon Lake; we then descend to Castellane alternating between paths and a wider track section (small passage of ascent on the road). "Obligatory" drink stop in Castellane before taking the old Roman road to the wild Suech plateau. Superb view of the sublime point and the Verdon gorges before descending towards Rougon. Dinner, overnight stay and breakfast.
Day 5: Rougon to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie 36kms D+1175m/D-1507m
We start by passing through La Palud sur Verdon before climbing towards the beautiful abandoned hamlet of Chateauneuf then Les Chauvets by taking the Roman road. We then climb on track then path to the Mondenier ridges. From there you can enjoy the view of the Lake of Ste Croix and the Valensole plateau before the last technical and rough descent which will take you to Moustiers, end of the stay. Luggage collection, end of the stay with the possibility of an additional night in Moustiers Sainte Marie to enjoy until the end, stroll in this beautiful village and get back on the road rested!!!
