European Heritage Days

Every year in September, the European Heritage Days invite young and old to discover the cultural and heritage riches of our regions in a different way.
Created in 1984 by the Ministry of Culture, they are today one of the largest cultural events in Europe, bringing together more than 30 million visitors in nearly 50 countries.

New discoveries and unusual visits

Monuments, religious buildings, industrial sites, private homes, and places usually closed to the public are exceptionally open. These visits are often accompanied by activities:

• thematic tours and guided tours,
• demonstrations of know-how,
• concerts, shows and musical walks,
• Educational activities for schoolchildren.

A 43rd edition focusing on endangered heritage

En 2026, les Journées Européennes du Patrimoine, JEP pour les intimes, auront lieu les 18, 19 et 20 septembre, autour du thème « Patrimoine en danger ». L’occasion idéale de (re)découvrir la diversité et la richesse des bâtis some Alpes de Haute Provence, by exchanging with enthusiasts and professionals who contribute to their preservation.
