Sun Cha (Korea) paints lyrical abstractions blending memory and dual culture through layers of acrylic. Yann Perrier (Jura, France) sculpts wood, resin, and natural elements into poetic and utopian universes. Two sensitive works, poised between interiority and imagination.
Description
Born in 1976 in South Korea, Sun CHA lives and works in France today. Driven by a desire to paint from a very young age, she first trained in Seoul, then continued her studies at the European School of Visual Arts in Poitiers and at the School of Fine Arts in Tours, before dedicating herself fully to her artistic career.
For several years, Sun Cha has maintained an intimate dialogue with painting. In a tension of gentleness and restrained violence, her work seems to emerge with natural force. Rooted in lyrical abstraction, each canvas explores interiority, memory, and the transitions between two cultures. Between memories of her homeland and new horizons, her medium is built up in successive layers: acrylic is worked like oil, combining glazes, transparencies, and impasto. From this sensitive expression emerge silent narratives, open to the viewer's poetic imagination. Having exhibited since 2009 in Korea, Russia, Belgium, and France, the artist joined the catalogue of the Galerie Vent des Cimes in Grenoble in 2024.
*******
Born in 1952 and based in the Jura region of France, Yann Perrier is a sculptor whose career began in ornamental woodworking for the furniture industry. He then expanded his practice to include expressive sculptures, scenography, and artistic installations. Optical resin, wood, bronze, but also snow, ice, wind, and dew: his materials are those of a sculptor-gatherer, deeply connected to nature. Through his giant spheres and pearls, he creates utopian, luminous, and poetic worlds, inviting each viewer to invent their own story.
