A timeless stroll through a garden unlike any other! Guided tours of the church with a demonstration of Gregorian chants, the remarkable garden with over 350 varieties of roses, the dry garden, and the permaculture vegetable garden.

Description

At an altitude of 600m, in the center of a vast natural valley known since ancient times as the "Absinthe Valley," overlooks a sacred land from prehistory to the present day. Perched on this sandstone promontory is the Cistercian abbey of Valsaintes, where monks lived from the 12th century until the French Revolution. All around, a unique garden flourishes, awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label by the French Ministry of Culture.
At the gentle pace of the terraced gardens, you can stroll among floral displays boasting 550 varieties of roses, alongside native and introduced flora. You will follow "The Rose Trail," a chronological path through the history of the rose.
You will discover a dry garden with its 350 species and varieties of plants adapted to drought and cold, and a permaculture vegetable garden.
The 17th century abbey church, fully restored, can be visited at a bend in the garden.
