A former fortified castle, which became a citadel and then a prison, this monument in Entrevaux bears witness to the different phases of the town's fortifications.

Description

The Entrevaux citadel passed through the hands of several engineers to secure this key border point. Richelieu and Vauban were among the men working to consolidate it. After climbing the Vauban ramp, enter the citadel and trace its construction up to its last use during the First World War.
